EWMD Dancers Perform at Disneyland!
17 of our Performing Company dancers along with chaperones and our Director, Pam East, enjoyed a wonderful experience in July at the Disneyland Parks Resort in Southern California. This program was created by Dance the Magic Productions. Dancers learned a fun, energetic routine based on Disney’s “Teen Beach Party” movie weeks before we got to Disneyland. This routine was performed in both the Disneyland Parade as well as the California Adventure Park Parade. The dancers had to work hard to build up their stamina in order to dance straight for 30 minutes outdoors in the sun. They did it through lots of hard practice. Besides performing in the Parades dancers took two days of workshop classes taught by the remarkable Disney Performing Arts Staff. These classes allowed our dancers to sharpen their performance skills by learning a variety of styles, interpretations and dance techniques. To top the week off the dancers performed three dances, lyrical, tap and jazz, in a Showcase venue at California Adventure Park. Complete with lighting and a full size stage, the production was most memorable for all. Of course, everyone managed to spend many enjoyable, jam packed hours for the 6 days at both parks in between all of the scheduled events. All in all, it truly was a magical week in the happiest place on earth, Disneyland! We can’t wait to go back!
