EWMD Dancers Enjoy the Magic of Disneyland!
21 of our Performing Company dancers along with chaperones and our Director, Pam East, enjoyed a fabulous trip to Disneyland in July. How could a 6 day trip to Disneyland Parks Resort in Southern California be anything but Magical, especially when you mix it with dancing? EWMD’s Performing Company dancers learned a fun, energetic routine from Disney’s “The Jungle Book” movie, and practiced their own jazz dances in preparation for this amazing opportunity.
After arriving backstage at Disneyland, they joined hundreds of dancers from around the world for some fun & hard work! The dancers “behind the scenes” experiences included two days of workshop classes taught by Disney Performing Arts Staff, rehearsal for their parade performances, and even a “Dancers Only” Ice Cream & Dance Party! Their hard work and rehearsals paid off as they sparkled and radiated with joy while dancing for about 30 minutes down the parade route in Disneyland and then again in California Adventure Park. The memorable dance experiences did not stop there though…Our EWMD dancers graced the stage performing two dances in a Showcase at the Fantasyland Theatre!
Of course, everyone managed to spend many enjoyable, hours on their favorite rides and at the pool too. The happiest place on earth did not disappoint, and “Dance the Magic Inc.” provides such an amazing opportunity that we’re sure our dancers will not soon forget! Our next opportunity to dance at Disneyland can’t come soon enough!
