Director ~ Pam East began dancing and singing at age 4, in Southern California where she grew up. She continued training and performing through her school years. In high school she received the “Outstanding Dance Award” her senior year for her work in the Modern Dance Program. She attended UC Berkeley and then transferred and graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance. She then completed her secondary teaching credential and taught Physical Education and started the Orchesis Dance program at Westmont High School. Prior to opening her studio in 1975 and through 1980, she actively performed in Musical Theatre and choreographed for many local theatre groups. She has performed with Ken Berry, Joanne Worley and Chita Rivera. Pam “lives to dance”! These are the words she uses to describe her love of dance and music. Her enthusiasm is infectious and her dedication to her students unlimited. She is proud to have served on the Board of the local modern dance company, sjDANCEco. Pam is also very thrilled to be working with both of her daughters; Erin at EWMD and Amber at her Yoga Studio, East West Yoga. She and her husband, John, love to travel and enjoy spending time with their grandsons, James, Parker and Liam.
